PBI Re-Enacting/Living History
Poor Bloody Infantry have two core impressions when taking part in living history and re-enactment events. These share an equal precedence but you may find it cheaper to obtain the equipment to represent a member of the Hallamshire Battalion first as the airborne equipment used by the South Staffordshire regiment can often be pricier due to its specialist nature.
Our focus at events is to re-create either a ‘working camp’ of a section or platoon of soldiers training in the UK for a forthcoming operation, or occasionally a smaller element of soldiers ‘in the field’ in Europe and at war.
New recruits will enter the group at the rank of private and over time may find themselves awarded rank, good conduct awards or service chevrons. No rank or insignia should be worn on uniforms unless approved by a unit organiser and medal or decoration for valour must never be worn unless the member has received said decoration in real life. Whilst you may have been a member of HM Forces, and held rank, please be aware that as we wish to retain a realistic platoon structure, NCO ranks will only become available as our numbers increase.
Re-enacting in PBI is a rewarding and fun pastime, we will expect you to put some time and effort in to recreating the WWII British Soldier but this will be tempered with an easy going approach to WWII life and a well defined sense of humour!
